When we started selling Genesis rescue tools
How we’re changing the rescue tool game—one department at a time.
We’ve carried Genesis rescue tools for more than a decade - long enough that for much of the team, Genesis has simply always been part of the lineup. That’s the short answer.
The longer answer is what makes that timeline worth paying attention to.
For more than ten years, we’ve represented Genesis across our territories, steadily building trust in the brand one department at a time. What started as another tool line in the catalog has become one of the most trusted rescue platforms in our lineup - because departments put the tools to work and saw the difference for themselves.
“It’s crazy how well balanced these are.”
“Those cutters are awesome.”
There’s a moment that happens on nearly every Genesis demo. A firefighter picks up the tool, turns it over once or twice, maybe runs a cut - and then one of those lines comes out. Sometimes it’s just a look. But it’s always the same reaction. That moment is something our rescue specialists have come to count on - and lately, it’s been happening more.
Talking Tennessee
Take Tennessee as a case study. When we took over the market, Genesis was nearly nonexistent in the state. Previous dealers hadn’t represented the brand well, and departments had little reason to look twice at it.
That changed fast. We became a dealer, hired a dedicated rescue specialist, gave him the tools and support to do the job, and got out of the way. Since 2020, we’ve placed approximately 155 tools across roughly 50 departments in Tennessee alone - and East Tennessee has seen the fastest growth of any region.
Across most of our sales territories, entire counties have converted to the Genesis line. Oconee County and Pickens County are among them - departments with high standards that are now trusting battery-powered Genesis tools to save lives and protect property.
Why Genesis Over the Other Brands
Ask any Genesis user what stands out and the answers come fast: the weight distribution. The balance. The ergonomics. Nothing too forward-heavy, nothing pulling at the rear. It just sits right in your hands.
Simply put, it’s a better tool - more power, better durability, unmatched cutting ability, non-proprietary batteries, and a lower cost of ownership. Genesis tools are among the fastest on the market, operable with nothing more than a thumb and finger. For crews working in tight spaces under pressure, that matters.
There’s also something worth noting about who Genesis is as a company. Unlike most of the major rescue tool brands, Genesis isn’t owned by a large conglomerate. That makes customer service far less complicated - and when a department needs support, they actually get it.
Departments that have switched report their tools rarely go down for repairs, and when service is needed, a loaner program keeps them in the field without a gap. For many departments, that loaner program combined with real support from our rescue specialists was the deciding factor. In a lot of cases, it wasn’t the competitor’s tool that lost the sale. It was the competitor’s service.
The SLi Line Changed the Game
When the SLi line launched, it shifted how we sell Genesis entirely. The Milwaukee M18 battery platform became an easier conversation - one battery running your rescue tools, PPV fans, scene lighting, and hand tools across the whole rig. Departments could standardize their entire power tool inventory on a single system.
Runtime holds up too: an 8Ah battery delivers solid performance, and a 12Ah will run 45 minutes to an hour even during demanding extrications. That kind of staying power is the difference between confidence and concern on an extended operation.
The SLi also introduced tech features - geofencing, training mode, service mode - that opened new conversations with departments thinking about accountability and maintenance tracking. It added complexity to the sale, but it also added real value for departments ready for it.
Flipping Departments
We’ve recently flipped multiple departments in Tennessee away from competing brands - and while the product itself played a big role, service and reputation are what opened the door and closed the deal.
In several cases, our competitors provided less-than-acceptable customer service. That was enough for departments that had been loyal for years to start looking elsewhere. When they did, we were ready. Our rescue specialists don’t just sell the tools - they show up for annual service and training and maintain those relationships long after the sale. That’s not something the competition can match.
“The Genesis partnership allows us to put the best tools in the users’ hands while backing it with real support, real relationships, and a level of service our competitors can’t match.”

When the Tools Meet the Moment
The numbers tell part of the story. But the clearest proof of what Genesis tools can do came recently from a department in North Carolina - a real rescue, an underwater recovery, a life saved. The crew used Genesis throughout the operation and has agreed to share their story on camera.
That story is coming soon.
It’s the kind of moment our rescue specialists have been building toward - placing the right tools in the right hands, one department at a time, so that when things go wrong, the equipment doesn’t.
“When two great companies trust each other and work together for the greater good, it shows in the field. When a firefighter picks up a Genesis tool, they can feel the difference - and when it counts, that tool is going to be one of the most aggressive, reliable pieces of equipment they’ve ever used to get someone out safely.”
