If you've never worked a large-scale incident, you probably haven't thought much about where the actual decisions get made - the maps spread out, the radios coordinated, the multi-agency coffee runs. That's the job of a command trailer, and it's exactly what the JAG units are built for.
A JAG command trailer is a fully equipped, self-contained mobile command center: a 32-foot bumper-pull trailer that turns into a working office wherever it can be parked. Inside, it's built around eight individual workstations plus a private meeting area, so incident commanders, agency reps, and support staff each get a dedicated place to work instead of huddling around a truck tailgate. There's a coffee station with a refrigerator to keep people fed through long operational periods, and every one of those eight workstations is hardwired into Starlink - so connectivity doesn't depend on whatever's left of the local cell network.
These trailers exist for one reason: incidents that require a mobile office. That covers a lot of ground - disasters, multi-agency ERT operations for departments and counties, and planned events that need an on-site coordination hub. Wherever the incident is, the trailer shows up and becomes command.
