What is the life of a Halligan?

What started as an idea three years ago became a year-long production by our brand team—a look inside the American manufacturing behind the Halligan bar, and the tool that opens every door on the fireground.

From the forge to the fireground—this is the life of a Halligan.

Few tools in the American fire service carry the weight of the Halligan bar. It opens doors, makes purchase on vehicles, and performs some part of nearly every task on the fireground. But behind every bar is a story most people never see.

In this film, our brand team followed the Halligan from its origins at Council Tool - a fifth-generation, American-made manufacturer and ultimately to the firefighters who carry it into the fire.

This concept began on a notepad about 3 years ago, and the team shot it over the course of the last year while we were capturing the day-to-day content for Safe.

The Halligan is a traditional tool. It's also a living one. This is its life.
