Chapter 10 // October 2026
Why the 5-Year Test That Keeps Firefighters Safer Matters
If you work at Safe long enough, you'll hear someone mention "hydrostatic testing." Most of us don't actually see it happening. Here's what it is, and why it matters.
Who benefits from pump testing?
Pump testing helps fire departments verify pump performance, catch developing problems early, and plan maintenance with confidence. For us, it’s also a chance to strengthen relationships with departments — through communication, repair support, and getting crews ready for the next call.
Where are our locations?
From our Easley headquarters to shops in four states, here's a quick map of where Safe Industries actually operates — plus a look at OnCall/Cursa Fuel, our collision and repair shop, and the FES facility that round out our South Carolina footprint.
What clients are saying about our services
Oconee County's new fleet: tankers that can fight fire. For over 20 years, Oconee County Emergency Services ran a fleet of 11 tankers from 2000 and 2001. They did their job, hauling 1,800 gallons of water to the scene. But they had one limitation Chief Chris Smith kept running up against.
When we prepared pallets of sandbags
For an environmental event that never happened. This summer, before hurricane season, our crew filled, stitched, and stacked 1,000 sandbags in a parking lot. Then we waited for a flood that never came. The bags never moved, and nobody called it a waste. They're still stacked and ready for whatever comes next.
News & Updates
A quick look at what’s happening across Safe Industries. Simple, straightforward, and easy to scan, this section highlights the small things that keep our team and our customers moving.
Team “Attaboys”.
Service:
A customer with Oak Ridge VFD called in specifically to compliment Paul Switzer after a recent service call on their new brush truck out of San Antonio. They told us Paul took the time to walk them through every part of the work being done, and his professionalism made the whole visit stand out - so much so that one of the department’s firefighters, who also runs his own business, joked about trying to hire him away. Paul caught a wheel seal issue on one of their other pumpers and flagged it before it became a problem. Nice work, Paul! That’s the kind of service call we want every customer walking away from.
Congrats also to Eric Phelps, Samantha Deal, and Spencer Kuhl on pulling off a smooth grand opening and move into the new Knoxville, TN shop! Their new parts room is already turning heads - called out as a prime example of what a parts room should look like.
Loose Equipment:
Big congrats to the Rescue specialists team (Neal Bailey, Jason Tilley, and Larry Greer). They helped push Tennessee to the #2 spot in the country for gross Genesis Rescue Tools sales in Q3, surpassing the team’s sales goal.
A note in from Blake Garrett, Training Division Chief at White House Fire Department, on the gear repair and loaner support his department has received: “The service your company has provided us in both repairing these pants and offering us loaners is unquestionably some of the highest we’ve received. Thank you.”
He also wanted to give a shoutout to one of our reps: “Would love to plug how great Robby has been. From instructing both myself and my department on what to look for in building/buying turnout gear, to consistently prompt communication, to helping resolve questions we have with very little effort on our end (the customer), he’s the gold standard for what we expect out of our reps at large.”
When Robby passed the note along to the team, he made sure to credit Jason too, for making the repair process easy with a quick turnaround.
Emergency Response:
Texas Emergency Response keeps growing, with two active contracts now running in Bay City and Matagorda County - expanding the team’s footprint in the state.

Own the Outcome.
Responsibility does not stop when something gets handed off. It stays with us from start to finish. We follow through, solve problems, and make sure the job is done right, not halfway. The outcome reflects all of us, and we take ownership of that every time.
